The Walking Dead: Season 1

The Walking Dead (Season 1, 2010):

Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes journeys through the zombie swarmed city of Atlanta looking for his family. He meets up with other survivors along the way and thus begins their story.

Based on Robert Kirkman's comic book of the same title, it shares many of the same characters and locations. Although specific plot points differ between the two, the general look and feel of things remain the same; granted its not 100% the same, but many of the episodes are written by Kirkman himself, so you can even think of the TV series of having hindsight correction.

Season one runs an easy six episodes long, which makes it simpler to decide if you want to commit to watching this show. Personally, I enjoy the zombie running and gunning, and not so much the whiny group in-fighting. The characters are a little thin, and I'm pretty much glad when the annoying characters get killed. I'd enjoy this series much more in fact if more characters died on a regular basis, and the series would revolve around solely Rick ala the first episode, although a Daryl sidestory would also be well received.

kenholic.com rating: 7.0 :: This show is reasonably good despite some odd bits of overacting and an abundance of inconsistencies. Zombies also look neat.
