Movie Snippet: The Grey

The Grey (2012, Liam Neeson): Thumbs Down.

A block of Jello. For some reason, that's what I was thinking about the whole movie. Ok, maybe not the whole movie, only when the wolves were eating the survivors.

The Grey is a long, drawn out philosophical & theological venture that just couldn't get a pulse out of me. It was as if I were out there with them, slowly having my will sapped out of me as the movie progresses ...

But this is just one of those movies where you need to just sit there for a while and let it all sink in afterwards. I understand why this movie had to be done - I don't think it's a coincidence that Liam would pick this character, but it was just laid on a little too thick.

You're down two in a row in my book, Mr. Neeson. Let's hope that your Admiral Shane character in Battleship is better ...
