Toaru Majutsu no Index Season 2 Announced?

The fact that Railgun even existed gave me hope that this was going to happen someday, but we all know that even good shows aren't guaranteed to get picked up for second seasons.

But why do I even bring this one up? I rarely hype up shows not named Nodame, but this was on my list for top anime of the last decade, and it set up too rich a world to leave unexplored. With the popularity and success that Railgun achieved, I'm hoping that this series will finally get the spotlight it deserves.
