Seitokai no Ichizon Preview

I'm on the fence about this one, even after two episodes. They shamelessly plug their own character stereotypes, regularly break the fourth wall, and do all sorts of references to other anime series, but I find very little to keep my attention. It's like this manic mess disguised as an otaku comedy.

The thing that bothers me the most is the lack of emotion here. This is a student council, but the characters look disinterested in each other and there's no real cohesiveness as a group. They routinely say rude things to each other, use each other as the butt of stereotype jokes to get some reactions out of the other members, but then moments later, all is forgotten, and the next situation is set up. What the heck. It's like their emotional states are constantly getting wiped, and no sense of retention.

Despite all of this, I must admit that some of the comedic punchlines are well setup. I'll probably give this series a once over, but it's not very high on my list right now.

Pros: Some funny parts are well executed.
Cons: Bad overall chemistry between characters.

Recommendations: You can give it a try, but I can count at least a dozen comedies in the past year that are worth watching over this one.
